The path to parenthood is unique for every family. As a Postpartum Doula, I am here to provide nurturing, nonjudgmental, practical support during the first 12 weeks of parenthood. I work to empower new parents to embrace their roles with confidence and joy.

About Merette

I grew up on the East Coast and went to college on Long Island, where I studied education and anthropology. Soon after graduating my growing family and I moved to Seattle. We've called it home ever since.
I was fortunate to stay home with my children during their earliest years. Upon returning to work outside the home I kept my focus on helping families, working first at a local nonprofit followed by several years serving patients and families in a reproductive medicine office.
When I began to study for my counseling degree in graduate school I was drawn to working with postpartum mothers and families. I learned about the role of a Postpartum Doula and was amazed at how well this profession blends together my experience in mothering, providing resources for families, and counseling. With my family standing behind me, I took a leap of faith and put graduate school on hold, completed my Postpartum Doula certification, and proudly opened Sound Postpartum.
In my free time, you can find me hanging out with my husband, kids, and our cat Mystery.

I offer a complimentary initial consultation for all interested families. This serves as an opportunity to get to know one another and establish how I may best assist you. The initial consultation can be done prenatally or after your baby has arrived. I am happy to offer this visit in person or by phone. The initial consultation typically lasts 30 minutes and can be completed at a mutually convenient time, including evenings and weekends.
